A Ceremonial Event Entitled “State Independence — A Symbol of the Revival of National Statehood”

On the eve of the celebration, a sports complex was officially commissioned. The facility was constructed at the initiative of the Main Department for the Protection of State Secrets as part of efforts to fulfil the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in preparation for the worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The sports complex was built on a 0.36-hectare plot of land within the premises of the Main Department for the Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Its construction was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Department's staff and the involvement of local entrepreneurs. The facility has now been completed and officially commissioned.

The sports complex was built on a previously undeveloped and neglected site. As a result of the construction and improvement works, the appearance of the area has been completely transformed. What was once an unused plot of land has become an attractive, well-maintained space and a suitable venue for sports activities and training for employees of the Main Department for the Protection of State Secrets.

The complex was constructed in accordance with modern standards and provides facilities for football, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. It is equipped with the necessary sports equipment and can also be used to host sporting competitions and various health and fitness activities.

The official ceremony began with the national anthem of the Republic of Tajikistan. Subsequently, the Head of the Main Department for the Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr Sherali Mirzo, congratulated those present on the country's great national holiday — the 35th anniversary of State Independence.

In his address, he emphasized that State Independence represents a great historical achievement for the Tajik people and serves as the fundamental basis for the revival of national statehood. Thanks to independence, the Republic of Tajikistan has established a firm position on the international stage as a sovereign state and created favourable conditions for socio-economic development, the strengthening of national unity, the maintenance of peace and stability, and improvements in the living standards of the population.

It was also noted that, today, under the constructive policies pursued by the state and the Government, Tajikistan continues to make steady progress towards sustainable development, national prosperity, and further advancement. The construction and renovation of roads, educational and healthcare institutions, social and cultural facilities, the development of industry and energy, and other achievements made during the years of independence are clear evidence of the country's progress.

During the subsequent part of the event, a number of employees of the Main Department for the Protection of State Secrets who had achieved notable results in their professional duties, as well as local entrepreneurs who had contributed to the construction of the sports complex, were honoured with Certificates of Merit and Letters of Appreciation from the Main Department.

The event concluded with patriotic songs and a vibrant cultural programme, which further enhanced the festive atmosphere and made the occasion even more memorable.
