Today, a cultural event entitled “The Path of the Noble Aspirations of the Esteemed Leader of the Nation” was held in the capital on the initiative of the Executive Body of State Authority of Dushanbe, in celebration of the President’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the event, Abdullo Rahmonzoda, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Relations, delivered an address. He highly praised the role and valuable contributions of His Excellency Emomali Rahmon to the establishment of modern Tajik statehood, the revival of national statehood, the promotion of peace and unity, and the enhancement of Tajikistan’s standing and reputation on the international stage.
Subsequently, Bakhtiyor Sharifi, First Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, delivered a congratulatory message from the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, His Excellency Rustami Emomali, on the occasion of the President’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was noted that the celebration of this nationwide holiday is, above all, an expression of gratitude for the stability of the state and nation, the establishment of independence and national unity, the preservation of peace and stability, and the continuity of the national language and culture, as well as recognition of the courage and dedication of the wise and distinguished Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon.
During an exceptionally difficult and complex period for the young Tajik state, he assumed leadership of a country on the brink of an imposed civil war. Through his hard work, dedication, courage and outstanding wisdom, he succeeded in uniting the people and turning centuries-old national aspirations into reality.
It was on 16 November 1994, during a session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, that the inauguration ceremony and assumption of office took place for His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the first President of Tajikistan elected through a nationwide popular vote. A new political era in the history of Tajik statehood began with the establishment of the presidential system of governance.
The event continued with speeches by labour veterans and prominent figures in the country's scientific community, who highlighted the significant role and contribution of His Excellency Emomali Rahmon to the development of Tajik statehood.
His Excellency Emomali Rahmon is a prominent historical figure of the Tajik nation who has made a significant contribution to strengthening statehood, achieving peace and national unity, and building a sovereign, democratic, law-based, secular and social state. His efforts played a decisive role in preventing the disintegration of the nation, preserving the state, and bringing an end to the imposed civil war, as well as in the economic, social, historical, cultural and political development of independent Tajikistan.
At the conclusion of the event, a cultural programme featuring renowned artists of the country was presented to the audience. The programme included musical performances and songs celebrating the homeland and expressing devotion to the President of the country.
